Two communities working side by side.
These shawls are all woven by the master weavers of Bhujodi. Some are finished with a weavers vision: the pattern, colour, and placement is accomplished on the loom. But others are passed on to the skilled craftspeople of the Rabari community. The Rabari shawls are finished with wandering lines of running stitch and the appliqué work that has made them famous.
A Maiwa shawl is always more than just cloth.
