AUTUMN WORKSHOP EXPLORATIONS

SEPTEMBER 2026

Anytime is the right time to be thinking about the next step in your dye garden.

Whether you’re dreaming of next season’s garden, preparing the garden plot, planting seeds, tending seedlings, or harvesting plants and turning them into colour, The Maiwa Natural Dye Garden is here to offer guidance for the work at hand.

Grow your own dye plants and bring their harvested colour into all of your natural dyeing, alongside the techniques and knowledge shared in Maiwa’s collection of robust natural dye workshops.

TAKING ENROLLMENT SEPTEMBER 14TH

Step inside The Maiwa Natural Dye Garden and explore living sources of colour alongside Maiwa’s resident dye-gardener, Nicola Hodges, and the Maiwa research team.

Filmed over five years on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada, this unique online offering gives a rare, behind-the-scenes look at a working research dye garden in the Pacific Northwest. You’ll witness plants in their full life cycles—from seed to harvest—while gaining insight into the ways we care for our soil, our observations, tests, and the experimentation that guides Maiwa’s dye research.
