Handwoven Textiles from Nagaland — Distinctive Weaves
WEAVINGS FROM NAGALAND
These are table runners, placemats, and cushion covers handwoven by artisans from Nagaland. In the farthest reaches of North-east India is Dimapur, a beautiful mountainous place bordered by Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Nagaland is home to 16 hill tribes who weave their distinctive patterns and motifs on back-strap looms. These are contemporary tribal weavings. Read more about the Nagaland Weavers here.
