New Denim Coats — Maiwa Clothing — Artisan Cloth
We've spent years developing this handwoven fabric. We encouraged a small group of famously talented Bengal weavers to return to natural dyes. They accepted the challenge - combining dyeing skills with their hereditary talents in transforming thread into cloth.
It isn’t easy for a weaver in Bengal to understand the cloth we need for our cooler climates. This denim twill weave, with our signature selvedge, presents the ingenuity and skill of the dyer and weaver to translate our ideas into this robust, gorgeous cloth.
We have sewn two of our classic styles - the Botanical Coat and Chandigarh Coat in our iconic plant indigo (indigofera tinctoria) and a tannin and iron combination.
A lovely heavyweight cotton twill cloth. This gorgeous artisan cloth has been thread-dyed with natural dyes, handspun and handwoven by village artisans in Bengal. It has great drape and features a bold selvedge stripe. It works great for heavier garments such as coats, jackets and cushion covers. This fabric is also used in our clothing line.
To our U.S. customers – don't forget that the exchange rate works in your favour, it's like an extra discount.
