Welcome to Maiwa
We've always got a lot on the go. This blog is our way of sharing.
Our biggest interests are textiles and the people who make them. You will find a lot of posts on artisans and our trips to visit them. Together with the Maiwa Foundation, Maiwa Handprints Ltd. seeks to support artisans through equitable trade. A key part of this is promoting artisan work. You will find that this blog ranges from anecdotes on natural dye history to notices of what has just arrived in our stores. It is never about just one thing.
Sometimes this blog will read like a travelogue; sometimes like a collection of "how to" stories; sometimes like a catalogue of our workshops, lectures and events; and sometimes like a magazine of textile news. We encourage you to subscribe and to share your views in the comments section of our posts.
