the MAIWA JOURNAL

THE THREAD LONGS TO BE HANDWOVEN

Handwoven cloth runs through history. The weaver keeps the threads in prefect tension, working with the length and measure of the day; keeping the lines in order, throwing the shuttle with the rhythm that makes the cloth.

We are proud to help keep the skills of handweaving alive with these inspired garments.

The dyeing process usually requires additives. Additives are used to mordant the colour and shift it in interesting ways. Additives are also used to modify dyes for processes such as silkscreening and block printing. You will also find the additives needed for discharge techniques, scouring, after washing, and neutralizing. Descriptions are found with each additive. For more detailed information, see our data sheets.

Each quilt brings a little nostalgia for our favourite pieces of cloth. Clothing, bedding, block printing and dyeing. As we make these quilts we revisit every single piece. Contemplated. Considered. Placed.

Maiwa's Masala Quilts are your chance to experience the best of Maiwa's artisan cloth. Pieced together from the work of craftspeople located throughout India. Each quilt is unique – there is only one quilt in each style.

The perfect compliment to any bed. $249 each.
